On the Way Out After Second Warrant Hearing
A Citizen Throws Bills at Yoo Ah-in
Actor Yoo Ah-in (37, real name Eom Hong-sik), who is accused of habitual drug use, was hit by a bundle of cash thrown by a citizen while leaving the pre-arrest detention hearing on the 21st.
On the 21st, Yoo appeared at the Seoul Central District Court in Seocho-gu, Seoul, for his second detention hearing. Around 10 a.m., the hearing was held under the presiding judge Yoon Jae-nam, who is in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, regarding Yoo and his acquaintance Choi (32), who are accused of violating the Narcotics Control Act (psychotropic substances), evidence tampering, and aiding a criminal.

After about two hours of the hearing, Yoo left the courthouse with a stern expression. Then, as he was getting into the transport vehicle, a man wearing an orange hat and a black mask threw a bundle of cash mixed with 10,000 won, 5,000 won, and 1,000 won bills, saying, "Use this as a fine."
Yoo has previously faced protests from citizens. On May 24, after his first arrest warrant was dismissed, while leaving the Mapo Police Station in Seoul and heading home, he was hit on the back by a PET bottle containing coffee thrown by a man.
Meanwhile, on his way to the second warrant hearing that day, Yoo told the press, "I apologize once again for causing great concern all this time," adding, "I will answer sincerely in court today and honestly provide all the answers I can."
Yoo is currently awaiting the warrant hearing results at the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province. His detention decision is expected to be made late that night.
