Daegu City Selects 3 New 'Employment-Friendly Companies'... YJ Link, Hyundai Corporation, Hwaseong Industry

On the 21st, Daegu City held a 'Certification Ceremony for Employment-Friendly Companies,' selecting 3 new and 34 re-certified companies known as leading local employers with outstanding job creation performance and excellent working environments.


The event was attended by Lee Jong-hwa, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Daegu City, representatives from the 3 newly selected companies and 3 outstanding re-certified companies, and other stakeholders. The ceremony proceeded with a report on the selection process, greetings, certificate presentation, and remarks from the selected companies.

After passing the eligibility screening in July, labor and management experts conducted on-site investigations throughout August based on detailed evaluation indicators in three areas. New companies were evaluated mainly on increases in regular employment, employment retention rates, and wage and welfare levels, while re-certified companies were assessed on job creation performance and vision, as well as improvements in welfare systems.


Based on the eligibility screening and on-site investigation results, a final evaluation by employment experts from various fields selected 3 new companies and 34 re-certified companies. Notably, among the 34 re-certified companies, most (31 companies) passed their second re-certification (every 3 years) since their initial selection in 2016 or 2017, demonstrating continuous job creation achievements and excellent employment environments.


Among 29 applicants for new employment-friendly companies, YJ Link Co., Ltd., Hyundai Corporation Co., Ltd., and Hwaseong Industry Co., Ltd. were selected, overcoming a competition ratio of 10 to 1.


As of last year, the average sales revenue of these companies was 248.5 billion KRW, with an average of 200 employees, an average employment growth rate of 19% over the past two years, an average starting annual salary for college graduates of 37.38 million KRW, and they operate an average of 21 welfare programs exceeding legal standards.


The re-certified employment-friendly companies include Kyungchang Industry Co., Ltd., Kyungchang Precision Co., Ltd., Gooyoung Tech Co., Ltd., Geumyong Machinery Co., Ltd., Daegu Bank Co., Ltd., Daegu Tech (Ltd.), Daedong Metal Co., Ltd., Daeju Machinery Co., Ltd., Daechul Co., Ltd., Dentis Co., Ltd., Dizen Co., Ltd., Mogan Co., Ltd., Sambo Motors Co., Ltd., Samik THK Co., Ltd., Seohan Co., Ltd., Sesin Precision Co., Ltd., Abaco Co., Ltd., Ajin Extech Co., Ltd., SNS Tech Co., Ltd., SJF Co., Ltd., L&F Co., Ltd., Wow Tech Co., Ltd., Woobang Co., Ltd., Isu Petasys Co., Ltd., JVM Co., Ltd., Jinyang Oil Seal Co., Ltd., Taewang ENC Co., Ltd., Taeil Precision Co., Ltd., THN Co., Ltd., PHA Co., Ltd., Korea OSG Co., Ltd., Korea Dokimek Co., Ltd., Korea SKF Seal Co., Ltd., and DGB Data System Co., Ltd.


As of last year, these companies had an average sales revenue of 430.4 billion KRW, an average of 466 employees, an average employment growth rate of 9% over the past two years, an average starting annual salary for college graduates of 38.62 million KRW, and operate an average of 24 welfare programs exceeding legal standards.


Among them, the three companies with the most notable efforts in job creation and working environment improvement?Daeju Machinery Co., Ltd., Samik THK Co., Ltd., and L&F Co., Ltd.?were selected as outstanding re-certified companies and will receive preferential benefits such as increased support funds for customized employment environment improvements.


The outstanding re-certified companies have an average of 762 employees, an average employment growth rate of 64% over the past two years, an average starting annual salary for college graduates of 41.51 million KRW, and operate an average of 34 welfare programs.


Since its inception in 2016, the Employment-Friendly Company Selection and Support Project selects companies with excellent job creation performance and employee welfare systems to support them in becoming leading local employers, with a total of 58 companies selected to date.


Companies selected as employment-friendly receive benefits such as customized employment environment improvements supporting employee welfare and rest facilities expansion (up to 17 million KRW per company), public transportation advertising, corporate promotional video production support, participation in youth awareness improvement events like employment-friendly company briefings, Employment-Friendly Company Day (employee morale boosting events), and preferential treatment in various corporate support programs.


Lee Jong-hwa, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Daegu City, stated, “Employment-friendly companies are those with the highest wage levels and excellent employee welfare systems in the region. We will continue to discover quality jobs and nurture them under the brand of ‘Employment-Friendly Companies,’ widely promoting that Daegu has many good jobs actively recommended to young people.” He added, “We ask for the active interest and participation of local companies and youth.”
