The ruling and opposition parties decided not to submit the nomination consent bill for Supreme Court Chief Justice nominee Lee Gyun-yong to the plenary session of the National Assembly held on the afternoon of the 21st.

Yoon Jae-ok, floor leader of the People Power Party, said to reporters after a floor leaders' meeting at the National Assembly that morning, "We are discussing handling the nomination consent bill for the Chief Justice on the 25th."

Park Kwang-on, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, also explained, "It is correct that it will not be submitted today, but we are discussing handling it on the 25th."

In response, Floor Leader Yoon said, "The situation in today's plenary session is complicated in many ways, and since it has been about a day since the confirmation hearing for the Chief Justice nominee, each party needs to gather public opinion a bit more."

He added, "Our party's position is to handle it on the 25th, and if it cannot be handled on the 25th, we think it should be done today at the latest because the judicial vacancy cannot be delayed any further."

Regarding the submission of the controversial 'Yellow Envelope Act' (Amendments to Articles 2 and 3 of the Labor Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act), Floor Leader Yoon said, "We are still in ongoing discussions."
