Visits to Cheongsan, Cheongsan Yeoseodo, Nohwa, Soan, and Bogil for the General Public
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 21st that it will implement the ‘General Public Half-Price Ferry Fare Support Project’ starting from the 4th of next month to reduce the burden of ferry fares for tourists in celebration of the ‘Jeonnam Visit Year.’
The project targets the general public excluding Wando residents. General visitors to Cheongsando, Cheongsan Yeoseodo, Nohwa, Soan, and Bogildo islands can receive support for half the ferry fare.

For those who receive discounts such as national merit, seniors aged 65 or older, and persons with disabilities, the discount rate is applied first, and then half of the remaining fare is supported. However, terminal usage fees or vehicle fares are not applicable, and the project will end once the budget is exhausted.
Last year, the project budget was 103 million KRW, and from the 27th of last month to the 12th of this month, ferry fares were supported for 29,148 visitors to Yeoseodo, Nohwa, Soan, and Bogildo islands.
This year’s project budget is 403 million KRW, an increase of 300 million KRW compared to the previous year, and Cheongsando has been added to the four islands previously supported, so it is expected that many tourists will benefit for a long period.
Meanwhile, from the 20th to the 29th of next month, the ‘Clean Wando Autumn Island Travel’ event will take place in Wando-eup, Cheongsando, Bogildo, and other areas, allowing tourists visiting these regions to use the ferry at half price.
County Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, “I hope the ferry fare support project will alleviate the burden on tourists and contribute to the revitalization of island tourism,” adding, “We will do our best to consult with ferry operators and conduct guidance inspections for smooth project implementation.”
