On the 22nd, the Busan Northern Office of Education will operate the 'Peaceful Unification History Experience' program for 37 middle school students and teachers in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam.
The 'Peaceful Unification History Experience' is part of the Northern Office of Education's Love for the Country Education, designed as a community-based experiential activity to help students establish a correct historical perspective and cultivate a sensitivity to peace.
The program, themed 'The Historical Stories Embraced by Jinhae,' begins with a visit to the Jinhae Navy House and proceeds with various experiential activities. Participants then embark on a cultural exploration of Jinhae, visiting locations such as the filming site of the movie Battle of Yeonpyeong, the memorial stone with the calligraphy of Independence Activist Ahn Jung-geun, the Turtle Ship, and the statue of Admiral Yi Sun-sin holding a bow.
Additionally, activities include a detective game combined with a tour of Jinhae's modern cultural historical trail and a monorail experience at Jehwangsan Park.
Kim Beom-gyu, Superintendent of the Northern Office of Education, stated, “This program will be a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on local history and develop a future-oriented sensitivity to peace. Our Office of Education will continue to do its best to provide objective history education and unification education aimed at the future.”
