KCC Hosts '2023 Broadcasting Co-Production International Conference'
Participants from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, and More
On the 21st, the Korea Communications Commission will hold the '2023 International Broadcasting Co-production Conference (IBCC, International Broadcasting Co-production Conference, 2023)' at The-K Hotel Seoul under the theme "Local Insights, Global Outlooks: Sharing Asian Stories with the World."
The International Broadcasting Co-production Conference is an annual event hosted by the Korea Communications Commission and the Korea Information Society Development Institute to promote co-productions between countries and enhance international interest in K-content. Since its inception in 2016, this year marks the 8th conference. The conference consists of a keynote speech, a special session for the host country, an Asia session, an expert roundtable, and the 2023 Overseas Excellent Co-production Awards ceremony and announcement of winners. The keynote speech will be delivered by Park Jeong-hoon, President of SBS, presenting "SBS Co-production Strategy through Localization of Hallyu."
Lee Sang-in, Vice Chairman of the Korea Communications Commission, said in his opening remarks, "K-content, which attracts attention not only from the Asian region but also from people around the world, is recognized as 'fun and well-made content,' and this is a proud result achieved through the dedicated efforts of many for content production and overseas expansion. I hope today's conference will contribute to the quantitative and qualitative improvement of co-produced broadcasting content."
