Lecture at National Mokpo University Invited by the Decentralization and Autonomy Research Institute
On the 20th at 4 p.m., Mokpo National University (President Song Ha-cheol) held a special lecture by former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon, invited by the Decentralization and Autonomy Research Institute, at the 70th Anniversary Hall Cheonggang Academia Hall of Mokpo National University, with about 500 attendees including students, faculty, staff, and local residents, the university announced on the 21st.
Former Prime Minister Lee stated, "If the United States and Japan normalize relations with North Korea, it could induce desirable changes in North Korea," and shared his vision for cooperation in a peaceful international community. Based on his extensive government experience, he also mentioned directions for regional development.

Following the lecture, during the Q&A session, questions and discussions continued regarding South Korea's adaptation strategies amid rapidly changing international circumstances, as well as the development direction of the southwestern region of Jeollanam-do.
Kim Yong-geun, a senior student in the Department of Cultural Contents who attended the lecture, said, "I strongly agree with former Prime Minister Lee's remark that 'diplomacy is no longer the exclusive domain of the elite.' This lecture was a valuable opportunity to understand the flow of the times and broaden my insight into the nation and foreign relations at a personally important time as employment approaches."
After the special lecture, a book signing event for Lee's recent book, Survival Strategy of the Republic of Korea, was held. Former Prime Minister Lee is scheduled to continue his lectures at Jangseong Culture and Arts Center on the 21st and Jeju National University on the 22nd.
