Air Busan is expanding its educational donation activities from high schools to universities following its visit-based education program.
Starting from the 21st, Air Busan announced the launch of the ‘Dream Mentor’ program, where current Air Busan employees visit universities that have requested education to provide customized mentoring and special lectures by field.
Lectures are conducted according to the desired fields of each school, covering representative job areas in the aviation industry such as ▲maintenance technician ▲flight crew ▲cabin crew ▲flight operations manager.
This Dream Mentor program differs from existing educational donation programs in that current professionals visit schools in person to deliver educational donation activities.
Professionals in each field provide customized mentoring for university students for two hours, helping them resolve general questions about the aviation industry and understand career planning in aviation.
Starting in October, the ‘Dream School’ program will also be offered, providing experiential learning within the company building for high school students.
Dream School is conducted for high schools in the Busan area, offering aviation industry experience opportunities to high school students before college entrance, thereby broadening their options for aviation-related studies and career choices.
Air Busan has collaborated with various local organizations such as Busan City, Busan Economic Promotion Agency, and Busan Metropolitan Office of Education to conduct educational donation programs for local students, contributing to the development of 678 prospective aviation professionals to date.
Air Busan actively utilizes training facilities at its headquarters, including emergency evacuation slides, model aircraft for safety training, fire suppression training rooms, and first aid training rooms, to provide diverse education.
A representative educational donation program is the ‘Dream Campus,’ where participants are assigned to actual operational departments to gain practical experience; over the past three years, about 270 local university students have participated.
An Air Busan official said, “As overseas travel becomes more active, interest in aviation jobs among youth has recently increased. We will take the lead in nurturing future aviation professionals by providing job experience opportunities across all age groups through various educational donation programs.”
