China is simplifying the visa application process for foreigners to attract more foreign tourists.
On the 20th (local time), Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated at a regular briefing that the requirements for submitting educational background, family information, and travel history during visa applications have been simplified.
Previously, applicants had to list all overseas travel destinations visited in the past five years, but this period has been shortened to the past one year. The education section now only requires the highest level of education to be indicated.
China's complicated visa issuance procedures have long been criticized as obstacles for foreign tourists. Starting from this day, China is providing the simplified visa application forms.
Spokesperson Mao said, "The time required for visa applicants to complete the application form will be greatly reduced, and visa issuance will become more convenient."
