Expectations for Building a Safe Security Environment Where 'Anyone, Anywhere' Can Feel Secure
The regular meeting of the Gyeongbuk Yeongdeok-gun Regional Security Council for the second half of this year was held on the 19th in the large conference room on the 3rd floor of the county office, with 13 heads of institutions and organizations in attendance.
Yeongdeok-gun held the regular meeting of the Regional Security Council for the second half of 2023 on the 19th.
At this meeting, Chairman Kim Gwang-yeol, County Governor, and Vice Chairman Ahn Hae-won, Police Chief, along with committee members including Son Deok-su, Chairman of the County Council; Yoon In-han, Director of the Education Support Office; Oh Beom-sik, Fire Chief; and Kim Chang-su, Director of the Daegu Probation Office Yeongdeok Branch, were present.
Before the meeting, the council presented appointment certificates to newly appointed members Yang Woo-chang, President of B.B.S Yeongdeok Branch, and Kim Bo-ram, President of the Green Mothers' Association. Additionally, on the 12th, appreciation plaques were awarded to three members of the Yeongdeok-eup Women's Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit?Deputy Leader Oh Dong-hwa and members Ha Hyo-yeon and Kim Chun-rye?for their significant assistance in rescuing a missing person in Jipum-myeon, Yeongdeok-gun.
The meeting then discussed topics including ▲ requests for the restoration of national funding for child care facility operating expenses and ▲ measures to prevent agricultural product theft.
Police Chief Ahn Hae-won stated, “Recently, our police have been focusing on special security activities in collaboration with cooperative organizations to respond to abnormal motive crimes such as the recent stabbing rampage in Sillim-dong. Especially ahead of the Chuseok holiday, we will intensify special crime prevention activities to prevent theft of agricultural and marine products and traffic accidents, ensuring the safety of the residents.”
County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol said, “In August, our county appointed 143 autonomous crime prevention volunteers, achieving clear results such as prompt response when missing persons occur. We expect that the Yeongdeok-gun Security Council will play a pivotal role in providing a security environment where all Yeongdeok residents and tourists can feel safe anywhere.”
The Yeongdeok-gun Regional Security Council is composed of 6 ex officio members and 7 appointed members, and recently, by partially revising the ordinance, it has laid the foundation to strengthen the operation of the Yeongdeok-gun Regional Security Council.
