Yeungjin College plans to apply its know-how of successful industry-academia collaboration through customized education to the mutual cooperation with Gunwi County, aiming to create a sustainable industry-academia success model.
In particular, Gunwi County, which secured the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport, will actively engage in exchanges and cooperation to establish the foundation for becoming an international air logistics hub and to foster talent in related fields.
Additionally, Gunwi County, known as the hometown of the Samguk Yusa and home to Palgongsan National Park, will build an industry-academia-government cooperation network to enhance cultural tourism and industrial competitiveness, including smart farms and green bio sectors, striving for the joint development of urban and rural areas.
President Choi Jae-young said, “I am very pleased that a meaningful platform has been established for Gunwi County, which is re-advancing as an international aviation hub based on the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport, and our university to develop together. We will actively carry out industry-academia cooperation activities that can proactively respond to rapidly changing environmental changes to create synergy, and furthermore, we will make every effort both materially and spiritually to lead the future development of Daegu and Gyeongbuk.”
Governor Kim Jin-yeol of Gunwi County said, “Our county has entered a new phase of development with the promotion of the new airport and incorporation into Daegu. Along with the new airport, Gunwi is emerging as a place visited by many people through the creation of industrial complexes, designation of Palgongsan National Park, expansion of golf courses, and popularization of park golf. I feel reassured that Yeungjin College can join us in supporting these changes and developments.”
