Dong-Eui Institute of Technology signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement and an early employment-type contract department operation agreement with Gents Bakery on the 18th.
This agreement was made to establish an industry-academia cooperation system, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and technology necessary for fostering local industries, and successfully promote the Early Employment-Type Contract Department Leading College Development Project.
Attending the signing ceremony were Dong-Eui Institute of Technology President Kim Young-do, Industry-Academia Cooperation Group Director Lee Hwa-seok, Department Head of Food Service Industry Han Jin-sook, Professor Park Chae-min of the Smart Food Cooking Department, Gents Bakery CEO Jeong Ho-yeon, Planning Manager Kwon Dong-in, and Human Resources Manager Yoo Kwe-han.

The main contents of the agreement include ▲support for on-site training and employment of outstanding students from related departments (fields) ▲mutual provision of technical information and research data ▲joint participation and support in educational projects ▲collaborative human resource development related to early employment-type contract departments ▲cooperation in operating early employment-type contract departments and R&BD-related technology development.
Additionally, ▲joint participation and support in educational projects ▲cooperation in participation of franchise stores in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong) region ▲support and cooperation for various projects and events promoted by both institutions are included.
Gents Bakery, which started in Yongho-dong, Busan in 2002 as a premium bakery, currently operates two manufacturing plants certified with HACCP and smart factory standards, ten directly managed stores nationwide, and employs over 200 workers, leading the bakery industry in Busan.
President Kim Young-do said, “I am honored that Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, which started digital education early in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and Gents Bakery, the first bakery in Busan to establish a smart factory, have formed an industry-academia cooperation. I hope the collaboration between the two institutions will contribute to revitalizing the local economy.”
He added, “Through this agreement, bakery cafe students will gain experience in various local industries and ultimately be connected to employment, allowing them to settle as local talents. We will work together to support this goal.”
