"Spread of Environmentally Friendly Culture"
Moon Hong-seong, President of Doosan Corporation, is participating in the Ministry of Environment’s ‘Single-Use Products Zero Challenge.’
The Single-Use Products Zero Challenge is a nationwide campaign aimed at spreading an eco-friendly culture by reducing the use of disposable products and promoting the habitual use of reusable items.
President Moon joined the challenge after being nominated by Jung Cheol-dong, President of LG Innotek, and has nominated Kang Seok-hoon, Chairman of KDB Industrial Bank, as the next participant.
President Moon stated, “Doosan Corporation is striving to expand eco-friendly business and reduce greenhouse gas emissions through ESG-based management. Taking this opportunity, we will actively participate in reducing disposable product usage with our employees and encourage various activities to spread an environmentally friendly culture.”
Separately from this campaign, Doosan practices reducing disposable products by using personal tumblers and mugs instead of disposable paper cups. They also continuously participate in the ‘Zero Waste Challenge’ to minimize waste generation.
Additionally, to join the Single-Use Products Zero Challenge, Doosan is conducting the ‘Doosan Corporation Employee Relay Challenge’ from the 21st of this month until the 31st of next month. Employees participating in the campaign sign a declaration to practice zero single-use products, take a photo, and then nominate two next participants.
Doosan also conducts an annual eco-friendly social contribution campaign. Last year, they carried out the ‘Good Movement’ campaign, which involved activities such as walking, picking up and sorting nearby trash, not leaving side dishes uneaten, and removing labels and tape from PET bottles and delivery boxes.
Earlier in April, to promote the spread of eco-friendly consumer culture, Doosan launched the eco-friendly lifestyle shopping application ‘RE:ZN105.’ The ‘RE:ZN105’ app features brands categorized under eco-friendly sectors such as recycling, upcycling, eco-friendly materials, and vegan products.
