Sacheon-si Prepares 17 Measures in 4 Areas for Chuseok Holiday

For a Safe and Happy Chuseok Holiday

Sacheon City in Gyeongnam Province is implementing a comprehensive Chuseok holiday plan that includes 17 measures across 4 areas under the theme of “Abundance, Warmth, Safety, and Happiness,” involving 19 departments to ensure that returning visitors and citizens can have a safe and happy holiday.

To prepare for various emergencies that may occur during the Chuseok holiday period, the city will operate a comprehensive situation room for six days from September 28 to October 3 and plans to respond promptly in case of any incidents.

The comprehensive situation room will be operated under the leadership of Vice Mayor Lee Sang-hoon and will be staffed by 123 personnel from 11 departments.

To respond to the potential increase in COVID-19 cases due to the full recovery of daily life and easing of quarantine measures, the city will maintain an emergency infectious disease response duty system, conduct comprehensive disaster situation management, and perform pre-safety inspections of multi-use facilities.

Additionally, to minimize medical service gaps, Samcheonpo Seoul Hospital, Samcheonpo Jeil Hospital, and Hana Hospital will operate as 24-hour emergency medical institutions, and on-duty medical institutions and pharmacies will be designated and operated.

Information on 24 medical institutions and 37 pharmacies open during the holiday can be checked through the test page, the 119 Emergency Medical Situation Management Center, and other sources.

To minimize inconvenience to citizens, 26 LPG sales outlets will participate in a rotating operation system, and administrative efforts will focus on resolving unpaid wages to ensure workers’ livelihood safety.

For a warm and heartfelt holiday, the city will support 3,726 vulnerable households and 37 social welfare facilities, conduct inspections of senior centers, strengthen safety management for elderly people living alone, and ensure proper meal management for 743 children requiring meal services.

The city also plans to make significant efforts to stabilize the livelihood economy and everyday life of citizens by resolving unpaid wages, managing price stability, ensuring stable energy supply, and enforcing origin labeling and distribution order.

A comprehensive price countermeasure situation room will be established, focusing on 20 key Chuseok seasonal items until September 27, and will conduct guidance and crackdowns on illegal distribution and origin labeling to create an abundant holiday without worries about grocery shopping.

Active promotion will be conducted to prevent the disposal of household waste on Chuseok Day, September 29, and October 1, and a “mobile cleaning team” will be organized and operated to ensure a pleasant and clean Chuseok holiday.

To resolve citizen complaints directly related to convenience, such as water supply issues, road inconveniences, and 120 civil complaint handling measures, an emergency duty team will be formed.

In particular, to prepare for disasters and accidents, a 24-hour disaster situation management system will be maintained, and detailed quarantine systems will be established by implementing special measures for forest fire prevention and livestock infectious disease response. To this end, a nationwide simultaneous disinfection day will be promoted, and farm owners will be required to provide quarantine education to foreign workers.

Furthermore, to establish public service discipline that may be disrupted during the long six-day holiday, duty inspections will be conducted and emergency communication systems will be checked.

Mayor Park Dong-sik said, “We have prepared a comprehensive plan with 17 measures across 4 areas to minimize inconvenience to citizens, tourists, and returning visitors during the six-day holiday. We will do our best to implement the plan well on the ground so that all citizens can have a happy Chuseok holiday.”
