In addition, thorough safety inspections will be conducted on 12 multi-use facilities, including traditional markets and cultural and sports facilities, before the Chuseok holiday.

The citizen safety insurance, implemented since 2017, is a livelihood stabilization support system for citizens and their families who suffer injury, death, or aftereffects due to unexpected accidents.

It provides compensation ranging from a minimum of 100,000 KRW to a maximum of 20 million KRW to citizens and bereaved families who suffer injury, death, or aftereffects due to 24 categories including explosion, fire, collapse, landslide, public transportation, chartered buses, agricultural machinery, hit-and-run, uninsured vehicles, school zone traffic accidents, robbery, violent crimes, drowning, and natural disasters.

Details on coverage items and amounts can be found by searching ‘Citizen Safety Insurance’ in the search bar on the city hall website.

Deputy Mayor Kang Young-gu said, “Through this campaign, we hope citizens develop an interest in daily safety and cultivate the habit of voluntarily conducting safety inspections,” adding, “We will do our best to take preemptive measures on vulnerable factors through facility safety inspections for a safe holiday season.”
