The ‘2023 Haman Cultural Heritage Night Tour’ will take place over three days from the 22nd to the 24th at Mujinjeong, Gwaehang Village, and Seongsan Fortress. The Haman Cultural Heritage Night Tour is hosted by the Gyeongsangnam-do Intangible Cultural Heritage Haman Hwacheon Nongak Preservation Society, a non-profit organization, and is a program that allows participants to experience Haman’s cultural heritage firsthand.
The ‘2023 Haman Cultural Heritage Night Tour’ held in Haman, Gyeongnam, is the third year of this project, which is part of a public contest project by the Cultural Heritage Administration.
This year’s Haman Cultural Heritage Night Tour is themed ‘Endless Mujinjeong Night Festival’ and is composed of six themes: ‘Night Market, Night View, Night Story, Night Road, Night Play, Night Snack.’
This year’s event will be enhanced with more detailed content based on feedback gathered from two years of monitoring and audience surveys.
The representative programs of the 2023 Haman Cultural Heritage Night Tour include ‘Mujin Byeolgok (Traditional Performance & Media Art)’, ‘Memory of Light (Media Art)’, ‘Let’s Play Night with the Jjabi’, ‘Chatting Haman History Stories’, and ‘Tuk-tak Tuk-tak Haman in My Hands.’
‘Mujin Byeolgok’ is a themed performance titled ‘Light’ featuring Mujinjeong and Nakwhanori, held at Mujinjeong, Yeongsongru, and Chungnodam Lake. This media convergence performance has received favorable reviews from visitors.
‘Memory of Light’ consists of two themes: ‘Memory of Light’ held at Mujinjeong and ‘Aragaya Star Play’ held at Seongsan Fortress. The media art performances focus on ‘Various Lights of Haman,’ featuring the light of ‘Nakwhan’ at Mujinjeong and the ‘Aragaya Constellations’ theme at Seongsan Fortress.
‘Let’s Play Night with the Jjabi’ is composed of reenactments of ‘Aragaya Grand Water’ and ‘Haman Grand Water’ based on the ‘Haman Chongswaerok’ recorded by Haman County Governor Oh Hoeng-muk, a performance of Gyeongsangnam-do Intangible Cultural Heritage Haman Hwacheon Nongak, and a fusion flamenco performance by the ‘Flamenco Omppang’ team.
‘Chatting Haman History Stories’ is held twice at 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM, where the ‘Haman Yaong (Night Embrace) Interpretation Group’ walks with participants around Mujinjeong and Gwaehang Village, conducting a historical interpretation tour.
Experience programs inspired by Haman’s cultural heritage, such as making Nakwhan mood lamps and wooden tablet art books, are included in ‘Tuk-tak Tuk-tak Haman in My Hands.’ Additionally, the ‘Aragaya Market’ selling food and goods and the Haman Urban Regeneration Center will participate.
The event will also feature the ‘Star and Moon Embracing Urban Regeneration’ booth, ‘Mujinjang Haman Gukbap Village’ where visitors can taste Haman’s jjambbong, and the ‘Mujinjeong Busker’ performance held late at night at Mujinjeong pavilion, making the event richer than last year.
The Haman Cultural Heritage Night Tour requires advance reservations. Reservations are free and can be made through the Haman Cultural Heritage Night Tour website and the Aragaya Cooperative website. Advance reservations are open until the 20th.
