The Soyang-dong area in Chuncheon-si, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province is attracting the attention of demanders. This is because various significant development benefits are expected, such as the scheduled opening of the Chuncheon~Sokcho East-West High-Speed Railway, the Chuncheon Urban Regeneration Innovation District (formerly Camp Page), and the development of the Chuncheon Station area.
The Chuncheon~Sokcho East-West High-Speed Railway is a large-scale SOC project connecting a total of 93.7 km, starting from Chuncheon Station, the terminus of the Gyeongchun Line, and linking Hwacheon~Yanggu~Inje~Baekdam~Sokcho along the east-west axis. Construction began in October 2022, with the goal of opening in 2027. In particular, once the Chuncheon~Sokcho East-West High-Speed Railway opens, it will utilize the Gyeongchun Line connecting Yongsan and Chuncheon to complete a transportation route from Yongsan to Chuncheon to Sokcho without transfers. Furthermore, the metropolitan area and the Yeongdong region will be connected within a one-hour living zone, which is expected to have a significant impact on regional development through expanded transportation infrastructure and promoted exchanges.
On the 4th, Chuncheon Camp Page was selected as a candidate site for the 2023 first half Urban Regeneration Innovation District National Pilot Zone. Chuncheon City plans to invest a total of 2 trillion won starting from this point to transform the Camp Page area into a place where culture and advanced industries coexist. As a catalyst project, they will create a cultural park and pedestrian network, and foster K-Culture related industries representing K-content as well as advanced industries. They also plan to continuously maintain a climate-responsive urban forest to reduce fine dust and respond to climate and environmental changes.
With the development direction of Camp Page confirmed, the Chuncheon Station area development plan, which Chuncheon City is focusing on, is also gaining attention. In particular, Chuncheon City intends to foster advanced industries centered on R&D within the Camp Page site, which is expected to give momentum to the 8th administration’s plan to make the station area a "Chuncheon-type Pangyo."
The Chuncheon Station area development project is underway on approximately 504,562㎡ in the Geunhwa-dong area, including the site of the relocated sewage treatment plant. The plan is to concentrate mixed functions such as residential, commercial, cultural, and transfer centers to create a future-oriented hub space. This plan is currently at the "basic concept and feasibility review service" stage to pass the preliminary feasibility review by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
As such, with successive development benefits in the Soyang-dong area of Chuncheon-si, demanders are focusing on apartments that can fully enjoy the benefits and expect high future value.
In particular, attention is focused on ‘The Sharp Soyang Star River,’ supplied by POSCO E&C Co., Ltd. through the Chuncheon Soyang Promotion 2 District Reconstruction Maintenance Project. This apartment is located within a 1 km radius of Chuncheon Station on the Gyeongchun Line and Camp Page, allowing it to directly benefit from development advantages.
Moreover, ‘The Sharp Soyang Star River’ has abundant living infrastructure around the complex, providing excellent residential conditions. Administrative facilities such as the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Office and Chuncheon City Hall are nearby, and Chuncheon Myeongdong Street, which is dense with various shopping facilities and banks, is just a 5-minute drive away. Medical facilities such as Gangwon National University Hospital and Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital are also located nearby.
The area around the complex is rich in green spaces such as the Bukhan River, Bongui Mountain, and Chuncheon Peace Ecological Park, making the residential environment pleasant. Geunhwa Elementary School is within walking distance, and school facilities such as Chuncheon High School, Seongsu High School, and Yubong High School are also located within a 1 km radius.
The transportation network is well established. It is possible to travel to major Seoul areas such as Yongsan and Cheongnyangni within an hour via Chuncheon Station on the Gyeongchun Line, and access to Namchuncheon IC on the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway and Chuncheon IC on the Jungang Expressway is also convenient.
‘The Sharp Soyang Star River’ will be built in Soyang-ro 2-ga, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, consisting of 11 buildings with 3 basement floors to a maximum of 26 floors above ground, with units ranging from 39 to 112㎡, totaling 1,039 households. Among them, 855 households will be offered for general sale.
The model house is scheduled to open in October.
