Student of Dong-Eui Science University Wins Bronze at the Republic of Korea Youth Invention Idea Competition

On the 14th, Ban So-jeong, a student from the Department of Radiology at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, received the Korea Intellectual Property Information Service President's Award at the 22nd Korea Youth Invention Idea Competition held at the SETEC Seoul Trade Exhibition & Convention Hall.


The Korea Youth Invention Idea Competition is a national youth invention contest aimed at early discovering creative invention talents who will become the main players of the future industrial society with knowledge competitiveness, supporting their growth as the core of a strong intellectual property nation, and fostering future creative talents.


Co-hosted by the Korean Intellectual Property Office, the Korea University Invention Association, and Kongju National University, this competition received a total of 2,033 applications since March. After preliminary, main, and final presentations, 141 finalists were selected as winners with a competition rate of 14:1.

Student Ban So-jeong received the Korea Intellectual Property Information Service President's Award for the "Harmful Gas Exhaust Fire Alarm," which can discharge smoke and toxic gases outside the fire scene in the early stages of a fire to secure visibility and safety.


Additionally, Professor Je Jae-yong from the Department of Radiology was recognized for his contributions to the successful hosting of the 22nd Korea Youth Invention Idea Competition and the development of the University Invention Association, receiving a merit award.


Department Head Je Jae-yong of Radiology said, "It is no longer true that 'a disciple does not even step on the shadow of the master.' Now, when the shadows of the disciple and the master are together, they will respect and honor each other."
