[Harumanbo] "Please Visit as If You Didn't Come"... Daegu Palgongsan Olle Trail

Today's course is the Daegu Olle Palgongsan Course 1, a 5km round trip. Upon entering the Olle trail entrance, you will find the Korean Modern Poetry Manuscript Park (Poet's Path) on the right, featuring handwritten poems by familiar poets such as Kim Chunsu, Yun Dongju, and Cheon Sangbyeong. In the stone courtyard located in the middle of the Poet's Path, there is a resting spot with a banner that reads, "Please visit as if you haven't come."

As you walk, you will come across the Daegu Bangjja Yugi Museum, where you can see works by Master Lee Bongju, holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property No. 77 for brassware. In addition to exhibitions, special experiences and outdoor performances are held irregularly.

Passing the 3.2km signpost for Bukjijangsa Temple, tall pine trees greet you. When the wind blows, the sound of pine needles clashing resembles the sound of waves, and the strong scent of pine refreshes your chest. The pine forest section continues for quite a while and is the highlight of Palgongsan Course 1.

The trail ends at Bukjijangsa Temple, which is said to have been founded in 485 AD (the 7th year of King Soji of Silla) by Monk Geukdal. There is a corresponding 'Namjijangsa' in Gachang. According to documents from the Goryeo Dynasty, the temple's fields once covered 200 gyeol (a traditional land measurement). This suggests it was a very large temple at the time. It is said to have once been a very large temple overseeing Donghwasa Temple as a branch, but now it has a modest appearance. The main hall, Daeungjeon, is designated as Treasure No. 805.

There is a special sight unique to this place. A large persimmon tree to the right of the dining hall grows through the middle of the building. The building beneath the tree is the monk's meditation hall, and due to lack of space, it was constructed in a way that preserved the persimmon tree.
