Delivering Chuseok Gift Boxes Worth 10 Million Won to Low-Income Vulnerable Households in Dongdaemun-gu with a Cheerful Three-Step Approach

Lee Pil-hyung, the mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, attended the 'Chuseok Traditional Market Love Sharing Event' held at the 3rd-floor meeting room of the Cheongnyangni Traditional Market Merchants' Association at 3:30 PM on the 18th.

Started last Chuseok and now in its third year, this event is organized by 'Hope Friends Kia Support' and sponsored by KB Kookmin Bank, in collaboration with the Cheongnyangni General Market Merchants' Association. The three organizations came together ahead of Chuseok to help vulnerable groups in the community enjoy a bountiful holiday.

Although this year's fruit harvest was poor, the Cheongnyangni General Market Merchants' Association prepared premium fruits and supplied a total of 10 million KRW worth of fruit (approximately 40,000 KRW per household) to 235 low-income vulnerable households in the area.

Lee Pil-hyung, mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, who attended the event, said, "I thank KB Kookmin Bank and Kia Support officials who practice sharing for neighbors in need every holiday, as well as the Cheongnyangni General Market Merchants' Association members who worked hard even during the busy season." He added, "We will promptly deliver the sponsored goods before the warmth fades so that they can convey a message of hope to the marginalized neighbors during the Chuseok holiday, showing that this is a world worth living in."
