Youth Policy Network Operated Independently
The Youth Policy Network of Sacheon-si, Gyeongnam Province, received the Excellence Award in Policy at the Gyeongnam Youth Policy Proposal Contest held at the Changwon Convention Center, hosted by Gyeongsangnam-do.
This contest was organized to facilitate mutual exchange between Gyeongnam Province and frontline cities and counties that independently operate youth policy networks, as well as to encourage youth to directly discover and propose youth policies.
The Sacheon-si Youth Policy Network proposed a policy titled
This policy was evaluated as capable of promoting regional economic development and nurturing professional talent through increased youth participation in employment and start-ups, and as a program unique to Sacheon where any youth can comfortably find opportunities.
In particular, Kim Bo-kyung, head of the Employment division of the Youth Policy Network, received a commendation from the governor at the opening ceremony of Gyeongsangnam-do Youth Week held on the 15th for contributions to improving the lives of youth.
The award received on the 17th is the result of great efforts by the Sacheon-si Youth Policy Network TF team to discover helpful and feasible policies for youth, including visits to other local governments and expert consulting invitations. The Sacheon-si Youth Policy Network TF team consists of three members: Yang So-yoon, Kim Bo-kyung, and Park Sung-hee.
A representative of the Policy Network TF team said, “We thank Sacheon-si for supporting the network members who participated in policy development and ensuring there were no inconveniences in our activities. Based on this achievement, we will discover and operate various youth policies to make Sacheon-si a vibrant city where youth gather.”
