Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) will hold the "10th Infant Forest Family Festival" at Yeongdeungpo Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 7th of next month.
The Infant Forest Family Festival, themed "Dunggae Dunggae Playing Forest and Resting Forest with Children," will take place at the Infant Forest Experience Center, lawn, and plaza within Yeongdeungpo Park. "Dunggae Dunggae" is a pure Korean word describing the sound made when rocking a baby, symbolizing a festival where children play excitedly and families relax and heal.
The main events of the festival include ▲a "Celebration Performance" featuring circus acts, juggling, cheerful storytelling, and comedy ▲and "Making Children's Flowerpots," where participants learn about fine dust reduction and the importance of plants.
Additionally, various programs in three categories?▲Nature Experience ▲Family-Friendly ▲Forest Rest?will be available throughout Yeongdeungpo Park. The "Nature Experience" includes ▲natural dyeing (indigo, gardenia) ▲making fruit badges and fruit golf ▲dragonfly whistle making. The "Family-Friendly" category offers ▲carbon-neutral ttakji game ▲spinning fruit tops ▲traditional games experience (jegichagi, tuho). The "Forest Rest" category provides ▲relaxing on hammocks while looking at the sky ▲playing on bean bag chairs.
Families wishing to participate can apply in advance through the Seoul Public Service Reservation from the 18th to the 22nd of this month. Except for the Children's Flowerpot Making (participation fee 5,000 won), all other events are free of charge.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, "I hope the Infant Forest Family Festival will be a time to escape daily life, enjoy rest and leisure, and strengthen family bonds," adding, "We will continue to operate diverse events and programs where families can connect with nature and spend time together in the city."
