September 23 at Geumcheon Green Square from 10 AM to 5 PM, on-site registration available
Promotion of stray animal adoption and public etiquette campaign for pets, with 1:1 behavior correction counseling also provided
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) will operate a mobile dog playground called ‘Mamkkeot Ttwieonolge’ where pet owners and their dogs can run and play freely on September 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Geumcheon Green Square in Siheung-dong (412-5 Siheung-dong).
The playground admission time is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and entry will be on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event.
The playground will be fenced and equipped with sports equipment that allows dogs to pass through obstacles, enabling them to run and play safely and joyfully without leashes. A resting area with parasols and tables will also be provided for pet owners.
The playground is available to pet dogs that are registered and have completed rabies vaccinations, along with their owners. For safety, the space will be divided based on a height of 40 cm into areas for medium and small dogs and for large dogs. The number of dogs allowed at the same time is limited to 20 in each area. However, dangerous dogs are not permitted.
There will also be campaigns promoting the adoption of abandoned animals, educating about public etiquette for pets, and one-on-one behavior correction consultations.
Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “Reflecting the continuous demand from pet owners for playground installations, we plan to establish a permanent dog playground by July next year,” and added, “We will continue to promote various animal welfare projects.”
