Joint Statement Released "Blessings on Our Marriage, Now Going Our Separate Ways"
Actor Hugh Jackman (54) has decided to divorce his wife, actress Deborah Lee Furness (67), who is 13 years his senior, after 27 years of marriage.
On the 15th (local time), American media outlets including People reported that Jackman and Furness announced their separation through a joint statement.
In the statement, the couple said, "We have been blessed to share a wonderful and loving marriage as husband and wife for nearly 30 years," adding, "Now our journey has changed, and we have decided to part ways to pursue our individual growth."
They also stated, "Family has always been our top priority and will continue to be so," and "We embrace the next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness."
The two met while appearing in the Australian TV series 'Corelli' in 1995. They got married in April the following year, less than a year after meeting, and remained married for 27 years.
When they first met, Deborah Lee Furness was a well-known actress in Australia, and Jackman was a 27-year-old rookie actor who had just graduated from acting school. Jackman later rose to stardom playing Wolverine in the 'X-Men' film series and appeared in numerous works such as 'Les Mis?rables' and 'The Greatest Showman,' gaining recognition in Korea as well.

In a 2017 interview with People, Jackman recalled when he first met his wife, saying, "Deborah was a superstar. They were known as one of Hollywood's most devoted couples during their 27 years of marriage. In July, they were spotted together in the audience at the Wimbledon tennis tournament in London, England. The couple adopted two children in 2000 and 2005. Their son, Oscar Maximilian, is currently 23 years old, and their daughter, Ava Elliott, is 18 years old.
