The Lightest 138g Racing Shoes in Brand History
Adidas announced on the 15th that it will release the 'Adizero Adios Pro EVO 1,' the lightest racing shoe in the brand's history, weighing 138g.
The Adizero Adios Pro EVO 1 is approximately 40% lighter than the Adios Pro 3, the flagship racing shoe of the Adizero collection, weighing 138g (based on men's size 270mm).
The midsole of the Adizero Adios Pro EVO 1 features Lightstrike Pro technology, produced through a non-compression molding process, significantly reducing weight. It also offers responsive cushioning in the forefoot and midfoot areas, designed with elite athletes' running styles in mind. The shoe minimizes weight by removing the sock liner, applying a liquid rubber outsole, and using an advanced lightweight mesh upper.
The lightweight nature of the shoe helps athletes maintain a consistent fast pace even during long races, which ultimately contributes greatly to record-breaking performances. In addition to its lightness, the Adizero Adios Pro EVO 1 incorporates a forefoot rocker structure in about 60% of the shoe, maximizing propulsion during running to help maintain a stable yet fast pace.
The Adizero Adios Pro EVO 1 was developed with feedback from world-class athletes such as Tokyo 2020 Olympic women's marathon gold medalist Peres Jepchirchir and Benson Kipruto, a two-time major marathon winner, through various tests conducted at the Kenya training camp and Adidas headquarters Innovation Lab. Adidas expects that elite runners sponsored by Adidas will wear the Adizero Adios Pro EVO 1 to deliver top performance and running efficiency, continuing to set new marathon records at major events including the upcoming Berlin Marathon this fall season.
The Adizero Adios Pro EVO 1 will be sold in limited quantities in Korea this fall, with the exact release date and price to be announced later through Adidas Korea's social network accounts.
