Yongin-si Conducts Price Tag System Inspection Ahead of Chuseok

Administrative Penalties Including Fines for Violating Businesses

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 15th that it will inspect the price labeling system at stores within the city until the 27th ahead of Chuseok.

The inspection team will check whether the actual price and unit price of the products sold are displayed, and whether manufacturers unfairly display suggested retail prices.

During this inspection, the city will examine the price labeling system at retail stores, neighborhood supermarkets, large-scale stores, convenience stores, and SSMs (Super Supermarkets). Items with high concerns about price increases ahead of the Chuseok holiday, such as holiday foods like fruits and fish, and daily necessities like rice and milk, as well as stores with many price labeling complaints in shopping districts and traditional markets, will be the focus of this intensive inspection.

A city official stated, “We will do our best to establish a fair commercial order by taking administrative actions such as imposing fines on businesses that habitually violate the price labeling system.”
