Dongdaemun-gu Hosts the 12th Chuseok Hope Sharing Event

Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) held a donation ceremony for the '12th Chuseok Hope Sharing Event' on the morning of the 14th at the mayor's reception room on the 5th floor of the district office.

Sponsored by the Samyook Foundation, the 'Chuseok Hope Sharing Event' has been held annually since 2012. This year marks the 12th time that the district, together with the Samyook Foundation, has provided support items to neighbors in need within the community during the Chuseok holiday. Attending the event were Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, Kang Soon-gi, Chairman of the Samyook Foundation, Kim Ik-hyun, Executive Director, Yang Geo-seung, Director of Samyook Seoul Hospital, and eight other representatives from the Samyook Foundation.

The items prepared by the Samyook Foundation for this Chuseok include 1,350 boxes of Samyook Soy Milk, 1,350 boxes of seaweed gift sets, and 1,350 towels (worth approximately 59.4 million KRW). Since 2012, the cumulative value of the donated items has reached approximately 785.4 million KRW. The donated goods will be distributed in September to 1,350 low-income residents in the district who have one-on-one partnerships with Dongdaemun-gu employees.

Kang Soon-gi, Chairman of the Samyook Foundation, stated, "In addition to this donation, the Samyook Foundation participates in the 'Hope Wish Fulfillment' project, which provides health checkups, travel support, and family dining for low-income residents during the Chuseok holiday, making various efforts to help them have a bountiful holiday." He added, "We hope this event can bring a small hope to those in need, and we will continue to extend our helping hand to Dongdaemun-gu."

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, expressed his gratitude, saying, "We thank the Samyook Foundation for continuing their support for the vulnerable neighbors in Dongdaemun-gu for 12 years." He also stated, "The donated items will be properly delivered to those in need so that everyone can have a rich and joyful Chuseok holiday."
