A video showing police subduing an 80-year-old man who was wielding a weapon and causing a disturbance by shooting him with a taser gun has been released.
According to the Suwon Jungbu Police Station in Gyeonggi on the 14th, Mr. A, an 80-year-old man who caused a disturbance with a weapon at a business in Paldal-gu, Suwon City on the 14th of last month, was arrested on charges of special intimidation and obstruction of official duties. It was investigated that Mr. A went to confront Ms. B, a woman in her 70s whom he knew, suspecting her of having an affair, while carrying a weapon.
A video of the arrest scene was also uploaded on the official YouTube channel of the National Police Agency. In the video titled "Man Running Toward Police with a Knife," the police responded immediately after receiving a report of "a man wielding a knife and causing a disturbance."
Upon arriving at the scene, the police found Mr. A struggling in front of the store. Mr. A was holding a weapon at the time. The police then drew taser guns and batons, warning him to "Drop the knife" and "Put the knife down."
However, Mr. A ignored the repeated instructions from the police and instead approached them as if to argue. Suddenly, Mr. A lunged at the police as if to stab them.

In response, a female officer did not hesitate to shoot the taser gun and subdue Mr. A. After being hit by the taser, Mr. A screamed "Aagh" and collapsed to the ground.
However, Mr. A still did not let go of the weapon, and the police quickly confiscated the weapon and handcuffed him.
Mr. A was arrested on charges of special intimidation and obstruction of official duties. The police stated, "We will respond strongly and impose strict punishment for weapon-related disturbances and related crimes."
