Muan-gun Successfully Hosts Autumn National Business Kendo Championship

Muan-gun Kendo Team Wins Group Championship, Four Individuals Place in Individual Competition

Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) successfully hosted the 20th Autumn National Corporate Kendo Championship from the 7th to the 10th at the Muan-gun Sports Park Gymnasium.


According to the county on the 14th, this tournament, hosted by the Korea Corporate Kendo Federation and organized by the Muan-gun Kendo Association, featured fierce competition with about 500 athletes from 28 corporate teams nationwide (17 men's teams and 11 women's teams).

As a result of high-level matches by professional players representing corporate kendo teams from various regions, the men's team championship was won by Muan-gun Office, and the women's team championship was claimed by Gimhae City Sports Council. In the individual events, Choi Min-gyu (Busan City Sports Council) won the 3rd Dan division, Jang Ye-chan (Yongin City Office) the 4th Dan division, Kim Je-seung (Changwon City Office) the 5th Dan division, Jo Jin-yong (Yongin City Office) the 6th Dan division, Hwang Seo-hyun (Inje-gun Office) the integrated division, and Kim Seo-yeon (Busan City Sports Council) the women's division.


Additionally, the Muan-gun Kendo Team, the only corporate kendo team in Jeollanam-do, elevated Muan-gun's prestige by winning the men's team championship and placing in four categories, including runner-up finishes by players Yoo Ha-neul in the 6th Dan and above division and Yang Dong-gwan in the 3rd Dan division in the individual events.


Governor Kim San stated, "Regardless of victory or defeat, I send congratulations and applause to all the athletes who gave their best," and added, "I sincerely thank the athletes and officials who traveled from afar."
