To this end, it plans to conduct collaborative research with Yonsei University professors and laboratories, and continuously recruit researchers by enabling them to obtain degrees through industry-academia-research cooperation programs.
GSTCH will be operated under the leadership of Director Young-Jun Oh, Yonsei University Industry-Academic Special Professor, and Eui-Joo Choi, Honorary Professor of the Department of Life Sciences at Korea University, divided into the Brain Disease Research Department and the Formulation Research Department. Professor Oh is a world-renowned neuroscientist who has devoted over 40 years to brain disease research. He served as a professor in the Department of Systems Biology at Yonsei University and was recently appointed as an Industry-Academic Special Professor. He has served as president of the Korean Society for Brain and Neural Science and the Korean Brain Society, and as editor-in-chief of the society’s journal ‘Experimental Neurobiology,’ leading the development and globalization of the society. Professor Choi is a leading authority in the field of cell biology, who made a significant impact by publishing a paper in the world-renowned journal ‘Nature’ in 1996. He has continued his achievements by receiving the Korea Science Award, being selected as one of the top 10 national scholars, and receiving the Sudang Prize.
Professor Oh stated, “The GSTCH research team will analyze the mechanisms of action of GNT Pharma’s new drug candidates and identify target factors to provide scientific evidence for new drug development, thereby accelerating drug development.” He also added, “We will expand the range of target diseases related to brain disorders and discover new targets to fulfill the function of an incubator.”
