Kim Ki-hyun visits former President Park Geun-hye... "Positive response to Yoon's meeting proposal"

Met for Over 50 Minutes at Daegu Park's Residence
Told Kim, "Please Do Well as Much as the Ruling Party Leader's Responsibility"

Former President Park Geun-hye met with Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party, on the 13th and said, "As the leader of the ruling party, please work hard and do well in accordance with your responsibilities."


On the same day, former President Park received Kim at her residence in Dalseong-gun, Daegu, in the afternoon and said, "As the leader of the ruling party, you must bear a heavy responsibility. The ruling party leader must achieve good results," Kim relayed to reporters.


The meeting lasted about 50 minutes, from around 4:20 p.m. to 5:10 p.m. Park Dae-chul, chairman of the Policy Committee, and Koo Ja-geun, chief secretary to the party leader, also attended.


It was reported that former President Park responded positively to President Yoon Seok-yeol's request for a meeting.


Kim said, "When I told President Yoon that I was going to visit former President Park today, he asked me to convey that he would like to meet her if possible," adding, "So I conveyed this to former President Park today, and she responded positively."

Since taking office as party leader in March, Kim has expressed his intention to visit former President Park and coordinated the date.


This is the first time former President Park has met with the People Power Party leadership since her release through a special pardon on December 31, 2021. On April 12 last year, she met with President Yoon Seok-yeol, who was then president-elect.
