Yoo Seung-min: "Kim Geon-hee Act? Genius Flattery to the President's Wife"

The People Power Party has shown determination to legislate the 'Dog Meat Ban Act' by naming it the 'Kim Geon-hee Act,' but former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min criticized this naming as "flattering the president's wife."

On the 13th, former lawmaker Yoo said on his social media, "Some members of the People Power Party are naming the Dog Meat Ban Act the 'Kim Geon-hee Act.' This is unacceptable."

As Kim Geon-hee, wife of President Yoon Suk-yeol, has shown strong will to ban dog meat consumption, some ruling party lawmakers have even proposed the dog meat ban bill named the 'Kim Geon-hee Act' within the party.

However, Yoo pointed out that legislating a bill named after the president's wife is an unprecedented form of flattery. He said, "Attaching the president's wife's name to a law is something I have never seen before, perhaps due to my limited knowledge," and added, "Those who once flattered the president as if he were a divine being are now extending their genius flattery to the president's wife."

He further added, "Seeing such pathetic behavior from people who are supposed to be constitutional institutions makes me feel like 'liberal democracy' is regressing into 'communist totalitarianism.'"
