Jeongeup City in Jeollabuk-do will operate a direct transaction market in its sister city, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, over two days on the 14th and 15th.
According to the city on the 13th, the direct transaction market will be held in front of Exit 3 of Magoknaru Station from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
At this market, top-quality local agricultural specialties such as Jeongeup-grown oats, Ssanghwa tea, Bokbunja wine, pickled vegetables, traditional Korean sweets (Hangwa), salted seafood, and fruits will be sold at prices lower than the market rate.
The city plans to operate direct transaction markets starting with Gangseo-gu, followed by Jongno-gu on September 19-20, Gangdong-gu on the 21st-22nd, and Suseong-gu in Daegu from the 22nd to 24th.
Additionally, the city will actively promote the Danpungmiin shopping mall and the Hometown Love Donation Program.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “Ahead of the national holiday Chuseok, selling the city’s excellent agricultural specialties to consumers in sister cities is expected to help increase farmers’ income and enhance the city’s image.”
