From September 25 to October 4, Implementation of 21 Detailed Measures Across Five Areas
Operation of Sectoral Task Forces and 24-Hour Comprehensive Situation Room for Prompt Handling of Various Complaints During the Holiday Period
Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that it will implement the "2023 Chuseok Comprehensive Measures" from September 25 to October 4 to ensure that residents can have a safe and comfortable holiday during the Chuseok holiday period.
On the 11th, the district held the "2023 Chuseok Comprehensive Measures Special Inspection Meeting" to assess the preparation status and current issues by sector and checked the response system for emergencies that may occur during the holiday period.
This year, Chuseok includes a temporary holiday, extending the holiday period to six days, and tolls on nationwide highways are waived, which is expected to significantly increase traffic volume. Although prices have stabilized somewhat compared to last year, the prices of fruits such as apples and pears are higher than last year due to the effects of heatwaves and monsoons.
Considering these socio-economic factors, the district established holiday measures in five areas: ▲ securing residents' safety ▲ strengthening traffic safety ▲ providing convenience in daily life ▲ supporting price stabilization ▲ sharing with vulnerable groups. To promptly respond to various civil complaints during the holiday, sector-specific task forces and a 24-hour comprehensive situation room will be operated.
To prepare for emergency patients during the holiday, Dobong-gu Public Health Center will operate an emergency medical situation room. In addition, to prevent inconvenience in purchasing medicines, inspections and guidance will be conducted for hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies open during the holiday, and information such as their locations will be intensively promoted.
Efforts will also focus on inspecting safety facilities. Pre-inspections will be conducted on river flood control facilities, infrastructure, construction sites, and gas facilities, as well as on large marts and traditional markets where an increase in visitors is expected.
From September 28, the start of the Chuseok holiday, until September 30, the day after Chuseok, household waste collection will be temporarily suspended. To minimize inconvenience caused by this, all waste disposed of by the day before the holiday will be collected, and a cleaning situation room and patrol task force will operate during the holiday to promptly respond to cleaning complaints.
To prepare for price increases during Chuseok, price checks and inspections for unmarked origins will be focused on holiday seasonal products such as apples and pears at traditional markets and large marts.
Additionally, to revitalize traditional markets and provide convenience to visitors, Chuseok events will be held, and temporary parking will be allowed on roads near the markets.
As part of sharing measures, cash and goods will be provided to vulnerable neighbors such as low-income residents, elderly living alone, and homeless people, and a neighborhood Chuseok festival will be organized to share the generous spirit of the holiday. For children who have difficulty receiving meals due to the absence of guardians, uninterrupted child meal support will be provided during the holiday period.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "This Chuseok holiday requires meticulous measures in each sector due to the long holiday period," and added, "Starting from the 28th, when the holiday begins, we will operate the Chuseok comprehensive situation room 24 hours a day to do our best to ensure that residents have a safe and comfortable holiday."
