Dwelling (CEO Jeon Jeong-hwan) received the Innovation Award in the Smart City category at GSMA M360 APAC.
On the 8th, Dwelling was awarded the Innovative Tech Showcase Award in the Smart City category at the global mobile communication technology and industry outlook conference M360 APAC, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the GSMA at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul.
To attract the event, the Ministry of Science and ICT and GDIN set up exhibition booths last year at M360 APAC featuring 16 promising Korean startups in fields such as AI semiconductors, autonomous driving robots, smart cities, fintech, and metaverse. They conducted behind-the-scenes efforts by inviting GSMA member companies such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Singapore Telecommunications, as well as overseas investors.
On the day, 16 innovative companies gave presentations divided into four categories. Among them, Dwelling was evaluated based on criteria such as innovative technology, business model, global business capabilities, and product marketability in the Smart City category and received the Excellence Award.
M360 is an international conference sharing technology and industry trends in the mobile and digital transformation sectors, held annually in Singapore by GSMA since 2016.
Since its establishment in September 2013, GDIN has supported the global expansion of Korean startups by collaborating with investment institutions and innovation technology startup nurturing organizations worldwide, providing over 16,000 consulting services. It is a key institution under the Ministry of Science and ICT. GDIN has supported over 1,000 overseas intellectual property applications, about 800 overseas business contracts and partnerships, and the establishment of 118 overseas corporations.
Meanwhile, Dwelling, a smart shelter specialist company, announced on the 6th that it signed an agreement with Jung-gu District Office in Seoul to create and manage the “Jung-gu Type Smart Shelter Section” for citizen convenience at the Jung-gu District Office. A “smart shelter” is a transportation convenience facility installed around bus stops. It is a space designed to prepare for increasingly severe heatwaves, cold waves, and fine dust, allowing residents to rest safely and comfortably while obtaining useful information for daily life.
