Jungdong Ranks 1st Among China's Top 500 Private Groups... Alibaba and Hengli Follow

In the ranking of China's top 500 private enterprises, JD Group secured the first place for the second consecutive year following last year.


On the 12th, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce announced the "2022 Top 500 Chinese Private Enterprises" list, revealing that JD Group was ranked first. According to the federation, this announcement marks the 25th edition, with 8,961 companies participating, each having an annual operating profit exceeding 500 million yuan (approximately 90.8 billion KRW). The threshold to enter the top 500 companies was 26.578 billion yuan, an increase of 1.211 billion yuan compared to the previous year.

JD Group recorded an annual operating profit of 1.0462 trillion yuan, maintaining its first-place position from last year. Alibaba ranked second with 864.5 billion yuan, followed by Hengli with 611.7 billion yuan. Other companies in the top ranks included Zhengwei International (608.7 billion yuan), Zhejiang Longsheng Chemical (579.6 billion yuan), and Tencent (554.5 billion yuan).


Among the Fortune 500 companies, 17 companies reported operating profits exceeding 300 billion yuan, with 8 of them surpassing 500 billion yuan.


Since 2010, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce has been publishing the "Top 500 Chinese Private Enterprises" list. Local media reported that this list is the most authoritative and comprehensive reflection of the development status of Chinese private enterprises.


Zhao Dezhang, Secretary-General of the federation, stated that the total operating profit of the top 500 private enterprises reached 39.83 trillion yuan, a 3.94% increase compared to the previous year. In the secondary industry sector, 359 companies were selected, an increase of 17 from the previous year, with 322 of them being manufacturing companies. The total taxes paid by the 500 private enterprises amounted to 1.25 trillion dollars, accounting for 7.51% of the country's total tax revenue.
