Changwon National University Job Festival, Packed with Local Young Job Seekers

University President, Members of the National Assembly, and Corporate Executives All Gathered

The National Changwon University Job Festival concluded on the 12th, receiving enthusiastic responses from young job seekers.

The '2023 Regional Demand-Oriented Visiting Job Festival' held over two days from the 11th took place at Sarim Hall and Sarim Square.

Organized by the Changwon University Employment Strategy Center, the event began with a talk concert featuring President Lee Ho-young, Changwon Uichang-gu National Assembly member Kim Young-sun, and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) Win-Win Cooperation Headquarters Director Ahn Jung-eun.

At the subsequent KEPCO recruitment briefing, a KEPCO employee who graduated from Changwon University shared their experience of joining the company, and an executive conducted a mock panel interview that closely resembled the real thing.

KEPCO Gyeongnam Headquarters also awarded scholarships to three outstanding Changwon University students.

Recruitment briefings by Hanwha Aerospace, Shinheung Global, Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, and Korea Asset Management Corporation followed, with each booth bustling with young job seekers.

At Sarim Square, representatives from 10 public enterprises and companies, including KEPCO, Korea Asset Management Corporation, Small and Medium Business Corporation, LG Electronics, Hanwha Aerospace, and Hyundai Rotem Co., welcomed job seekers.

Employees from each company acted as daily career and employment coaches, providing job counseling focused on questions job seekers might have and sharing employment strategies.

Throughout the venue, various programs aimed at enhancing employment capabilities were offered, including career experience counseling centers, image consulting centers, student mental health counseling centers, and event centers.

Park Jeong-sik, head of the Employment Strategy Center, said, “We held the Job Festival to provide employment information and create a space for communication for university students and job seekers. We hope that this event, held in line with the needs of the local community and students, helped improve the employment capabilities of university students and local youth and led to actual employment.”
