Naver Partners with Hotel Shilla for AI and Cloud Technology Collaboration On the 8th, Han Jae-young, Head of Naver Business Development Center (left), and Kim Tae-ho, Head of Hotel Shilla TR Division (right), signed a memorandum of understanding for a strategic business partnership between Naver and Hotel Shilla at Naver's 1784 building.

On the 12th, Naver and Hotel Shilla announced that they have strengthened their comprehensive partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for strategic business collaboration.


On the 8th, Naver signed the MOU at the Naver 1784 building located in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, agreeing to ▲expand user benefits through membership partnerships between the two companies ▲strengthen online and offline partnerships with Naver Pay ▲and mutually cooperate on digital transformation based on AI and cloud new technologies.


Naver will introduce strong membership integration benefits targeting Naver Plus Membership and Shilla Internet Duty Free Shop members. Starting from the 18th, Naver Plus Membership members who purchase over 200,000 KRW at Shilla Internet Duty Free Shop will receive up to 8% of their payment amount back as Naver Pay points.


In particular, Naver Plus Membership members will be able to receive this additional point accumulation benefit on top of the existing travel service benefit of the ‘Shilla Internet Duty Free Shop discount,’ further enhancing the perceived membership benefits for users.


The partnership for Naver Pay’s online and offline services will also be strengthened. The two companies will further activate the integration of Naver Pay with existing internet and offline duty-free shops, and especially introduce Naver Pay QR on-site payment at hotel business locations such as Shilla Hotel and Shilla Stay to improve payment convenience for users.


Naver will also support digital transformation and new business discovery by applying Naver’s advanced technologies such as generative AI and cloud adoption to Hotel Shilla’s business in various ways.


In Hotel Shilla’s online platform and business operations, Naver’s cloud services and technologies will be widely utilized, and generative AI ‘HyperCLOVA X’ and digital twin solution ‘Arc Eye’ will be introduced to innovate hotel and duty-free service businesses. Technical collaboration to enhance personalized services, such as advanced product recommendation using Naver’s AI-based product recommendation technology ‘AiTEMS,’ will also be pursued.


Han Jaeyoung, head of Naver’s Business Development Center, said, “Through the strategic partnership with Hotel Shilla, we expect to maximize the membership experience of users from both companies with differentiated benefits in membership, travel, pay, and shopping, and improve service convenience. We will also cooperate to enhance our partner’s digital competitiveness based on Naver’s differentiated technology and grow business synergy between the two companies.”


Kim Taeho, head of Hotel Shilla’s TR Division, said, “We will expand the scope of business collaboration using AI technology with Naver going forward, and continue digital transformation for customer convenience and benefits.”
