Raonsecure's subscription-based biometric authentication service has proven its global business capabilities by surpassing 3.6 million monthly users in Japan.
IT security and authentication leader Raonsecure (CEO Lee Soon-hyung) announced on the 12th that its subscription-based FIDO (biometric authentication) service launched in Japan exceeded approximately 3,622,000 MAU (monthly active users) as of August.
Raonsecure's subscription-based biometric authentication service, launched in Japan in July 2020, provides its FIDO-based multi-channel private authentication platform, 'TouchEn OnePass,' as a cloud-based subscription service. It recorded 300,000 MAU within three months of launch, surpassed 1 million MAU in nine months, and demonstrated strong growth by exceeding 3.6 million MAU last August.
The Japanese market has seen an increase in non-face-to-face transactions centered on financial institutions, fintech sectors, and public institutions since COVID-19, along with a rapid rise in cloud computing usage. Based on this market research, Raonsecure launched the subscription-based biometric authentication service offering 'TouchEn OnePass' as a cloud-based subscription in Japan, steadily achieving results.
Additionally, Raonsecure was the first in the world to receive technical standard certification from the FIDO Alliance and actively participates as a board member of the FIDO Alliance, leading the global biometric authentication field. This proven global market presence positively influenced the favorable response from Japanese customers.
Raonsecure plans to secure more subscription-based biometric authentication service clients in Japan's financial institutions and fintech sectors and will also begin full-scale sales of its integrated authentication platform, 'OmniOne OneAccessEX,' targeting financial institutions.
Furthermore, leveraging successful cases such as domestic mobile IDs, Raonsecure plans to strengthen sales of OmniOne Digital ID in Japan.
Raonsecure CEO Lee Soon-hyung stated, “We are continuously achieving results in overseas business by utilizing our capabilities as a leader in biometric authentication and digital ID. Not only is the subscription-based biometric authentication service business in Japan progressing smoothly, but we have also secured digital ID adoption strategy consulting with the Indonesian government. Good news continues from various countries, and we will firmly establish our position as a global leader in authentication services.”
