As the Chuncheon Camp Page in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province has been selected as a candidate site for the Urban Regeneration Innovation District, the area is buzzing with expectations of benefits.
On the 4th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport selected Chuncheon Camp Page as a candidate site for the 2023 first half Urban Regeneration Innovation District National Pilot Zone. Chuncheon City plans to invest a total of 2 trillion won from this point forward to transform the Camp Page area into a place where culture and advanced industries coexist.
As a priming project, the city will create a cultural park and pedestrian network, and foster K-Culture related industries representing K-content as well as advanced industries. A climate-responsive urban forest will also be continuously maintained to reduce fine dust and respond to climate and environmental changes.
The city aims to complete local opinion hearings such as resident public hearings by the end of this year regarding this blueprint, establish the innovation district plan (draft) in the first half of next year, and begin construction in 2026. In particular, leveraging Chuncheon’s advantage of accessibility to the Seoul metropolitan area, the city predicts that if spaces for cultural industries, data, bio, and medical advanced industries are prepared, the total employment will exceed 20,000 people.
As the development of Chuncheon Camp Page is expected to increase the future value of the surrounding area, interest in beneficiary complexes is also growing. Population inflow is anticipated due to job creation from industrial development, and with the creation of cultural parks and urban forests, a pleasant residential environment can be enjoyed, leading to expectations of rising housing prices in the area.
Recently, the complex gaining the most attention as the biggest beneficiary of the Chuncheon Camp Page development is ‘The Sharp Soyang Stariver.’ This complex, scheduled for sale in the Soyang-ro 2-ga area of Chuncheon City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, is located right in front of the Camp Page site.
Moreover, near ‘The Sharp Soyang Stariver,’ the Chuncheon Station area development project is planned, and with the upcoming East-West High-Speed Railway connecting Chuncheon and Sokcho, future premiums are expected. The Chuncheon Station area development project in the Geunhwa-dong area is planned to be developed as a future-oriented hub space with mixed functions supporting a high-tech knowledge industry city, including residential, commercial, office facilities, and R&D research facilities, along with a wide-area complex transfer center. Additionally, the Chuncheon-Sokcho East-West High-Speed Railway, which began construction in October 2022, is scheduled to open in 2027, and it is expected that accessibility to Seoul and the metropolitan area will be greatly improved once the railway is operational.
The complex consists of 11 buildings ranging from 3 basement floors to a maximum of 26 floors above ground, with units sized from 39 to 112 square meters, totaling 1,039 households. Among these, 855 units will be sold to the general public. By type, there are ▲40 units of 39㎡ ▲358 units of 59㎡ ▲72 units of 75㎡A ▲150 units of 75㎡B ▲109 units of 84㎡A ▲87 units of 84㎡B ▲18 units of 84㎡C ▲21 units of 112㎡, offering a wide range from small to large types.
‘The Sharp Soyang Stariver’ is scheduled to be supplied in October.
