7-Day Stay, 70% Revisit Rate Seoul Tourism Goal
Seoul is reborn as a ‘high-quality, attractive city where visitors want to stay longer and return again.’ The city plans to enhance tourism convenience so that not only groups but also solo travelers can travel comfortably, and to expand enjoyable experiences in every corner. Additionally, it will collaborate with the tourism industry to upgrade tourism products and service quality.
On the 12th, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon attended the ‘Seoul Tourism Future Vision Declaration Ceremony’ held at Sebitseom and pledged the '10 Core Tasks for Seoul Tourism.' Through this vision, Seoul plans to usher in the ‘3·3·7·7 Tourism Era,’ which signifies ▲30 million tourists ▲3 million KRW spending per person ▲7 days of stay ▲70% revisit rate.
Seoul emphasized that this future vision declaration ceremony is not merely about expanding the size of the tourism market but also about improving tourism quality and satisfaction to increase spending, length of stay, and revisit rates. Furthermore, it aims to solidify the foundation to generate economic effects such as creating 1.08 million jobs.
Following the announcement of the ‘Seoul Tourism Future Vision,’ a ‘Seoul Tourism Re-Leap Resolution Rally’ for the tourism industry will also be held. About 300 tourism industry workers attending the vision declaration ceremony will pledge to eradicate unfair trade and commit to the qualitative growth of Seoul tourism, while performing a ceremony to wish for the successful leap of Seoul Tourism’s future vision.
Mayor Oh said, “What moves tourists and makes them want to return to the city is not large-scale infrastructure but sincere service at the tourism site.” He added, “If the city and the industry unite their intentions through this future vision declaration to dramatically enhance the quality and appeal of Seoul tourism, ‘Seoul’ will soon establish itself as a tourist city loved by people around the world.”
