‘Guro-gu Middle-aged Dream Center’ Opens

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced that the ‘Guro-gu Middle-aged Job Dream Center,’ which supports middle-aged individuals preparing for their second act in life, held its opening ceremony on the 13th and has officially begun operations.

The newly opened Guro-gu Middle-aged Job Dream Center serves as a control tower for middle-aged employment, providing customized job support from the pre-retirement stage through job searching afterward, as well as activating communities to help enjoy a joyful and healthy leisure culture.

First, professional career counselors conduct one-on-one intensive consultations for middle-aged job seekers. The center offers employment and entrepreneurship training programs and job-related information, and plans to conduct research on Guro-gu’s new middle-aged population by gender, age, and social class in the future.

In September, a three-day reemployment competency enhancement program and a one-day special lecture are scheduled, covering topics such as ▲Easy-to-understand asset management and financial technology ▲Holiday gift wrapping techniques ▲How to succeed in reemployment ▲Stress management for successful employment.

Additionally, spaces necessary for job preparation can be used free of charge.

The in-depth counseling room provides one-on-one customized employment counseling and vocational ability diagnosis services. There is a large lecture hall that can accommodate up to 30 people, and small meeting rooms can be used as small group meeting places for resident communication. A caf? is equipped with an information search desk for users’ convenience.

A Guro-gu official said, “The Middle-aged Job Dream Center will help find the desired jobs and serve as a starting point for a new leap forward,” adding, “We plan to operate various programs for an exciting second act in life, so we hope many residents will show interest and participate.”

Meanwhile, the Guro-gu Middle-aged Job Dream Center is located on the 4th floor of the Gaebong Small Business Dream Creation Center (10, Gaebong-ro 23-gil, Guro-gu), near Gaebong Station. It is free for all residents of Guro-gu aged 35 to 69 and operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
