O Eonseok, Dobong-gu Mayor, Visits Commute Sites to Hear Residents' Voices On June 11, Owen Seok, the mayor of Dobong District, is listening to a complaint from an elderly person at Exit 3 of Ssangmun Station.

Oh Eon-seok, the mayor of Dobong-gu, stepped out of his office to directly meet and communicate with commuters.

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that the mayor, along with district and neighborhood executives, will visit commuting sites directly to listen to residents' inconveniences, suggestions, and grievances through the initiative "Office Worker S.O.S, Commute Site with the Dobong-gu Mayor!!".

Mayor Oh stated, "Office workers find it difficult to express their opinions on district administration due to livelihood and family matters. To hear their voices directly, we need to go to the field," explaining the background of this communication effort.

"Office Worker S.O.S, Commute Site with the Dobong-gu Mayor!!" will be held near five subway stations in Dobong-gu (Chang-dong Station, Dobong Station, Banghak Station, Ssangmun Station, Dobongsan Station) during morning (07:00?08:30) and evening (18:00?19:30) hours.

To increase participation from office workers who usually find it difficult to voice their opinions on district affairs, the events are scheduled during commuting hours at subway stations in the morning and evening, broadening participation to include students, youth, and other residents.

The detailed schedule is as follows: ▲In front of Exit 3 of Ssangmun Station (September 11, morning) ▲In front of Exit 1 of Chang-dong Station (September 12, morning) ▲In front of Exit 1 of Dobong Station (September 13, morning) ▲In front of Banghak Pharmacy at Banghak Station (September 14, morning) ▲In front of Exit 2 of Chang-dong Station (September 15, morning) ▲In front of Samsung Sher빌 at Ssangmun Station (September 18, afternoon) ▲In front of Exit 3 of Banghak Station (September 19, afternoon) ▲Inside Dobongsan Station (September 20, afternoon) ▲In front of Exit 1 of Chang-dong Station (September 22, afternoon).

At "Office Worker S.O.S, Commute Site with the Dobong-gu Mayor!!", any resident can freely share their usual civil complaints and policy suggestions related to district administration with the mayor, who will promptly respond on-site to resolve issues swiftly.

Mayor Oh said, "Although we listen to opinions through various communication channels, I believe that face-to-face communication is the way to truly connect. If you see me on your way to or from the subway station, I would appreciate it if you could share your everyday concerns and stories like a son, son-in-law, father, or friend."

For complex civil complaints requiring coordination with related agencies beyond simple issues, the matters will be forwarded to the responsible departments, and the results will be communicated promptly.

To ease any discomfort residents might feel about direct communication, the "Dobong Residents’ Suggestion Box" is also operated. The suggestion box is set up next to the civil complaint booth, and residents with opinions about district administration can fill out a complaint form and submit it into the box.

Oh Eon-seok, mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "Since the launch of the 8th local government last year, we have made various efforts to communicate directly with residents, such as establishing the 'Mayor’s Direct Civil Complaint Office' and operating the 'Dobong Communication Phone.' We will continue to visit places where residents are to listen to their valuable opinions."

The Dobong Communication Phone is a communication channel where the mayor listens to residents’ opinions via text messages, operating since September last year. If you have suggestions, ideas, or grievances about district administration, you can send a text message to the mayor’s dedicated mobile phone. You will receive a direct reply via text within three days, and matters requiring long-term review will be separately informed of the progress.
