Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, who departed for Russia by a special train for the North Korea-Russia summit, reportedly arrived at Hasan Station, a border area between Russia and North Korea, according to Japanese media.
On the 12th, Japan's private broadcasting network JNN reported, based on coverage from Russian regional government officials, that Kim Jong-un arrived at Hasan Station, located in the border area between Russia and North Korea. Hasan Station is the place where Kim Jong-un disembarked and was welcomed during his visit to Russia for the North Korea-Russia summit in 2019. JNN added, citing Russian regional government officials, that "a welcoming ceremony was held for Kim Jong-un at Hasan Station."
Kim Jong-un is expected to then move to Vladivostok to hold talks with Vladimir Putin, President of Russia. This North Korea-Russia summit is the first summit meeting in 4 years and 5 months since 2019.
