Before the Festival on October 14, Recruiting 10 District Resident Models for Fashion Show and 60 Teams of Car Boots & Handmade Market Sellers Until September 20
Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that it is recruiting citizen fashion models and flea market sales teams by September 20th to participate in the fashion show stage ahead of the '27th Mokdong Rodeo Fashion Street Cultural Festival' to be held on October 22nd to revitalize the local commercial district.
This year’s festival will newly feature an 'Autumn Fashion Show' centered on clothing brands, including golf wear, which are major tenants of Mokdong Rodeo, along with citizen models. This will provide clothing stores with opportunities to promote their products and residents with chances to showcase their talents and skills, making it a participatory and harmonious festival led by citizens rather than a simple viewing event.
Citizen fashion models for the Mokdong Rodeo 'Autumn Fashion Show' are open to any residents aged 15 or older. After an interview screening, a total of 10 people will be selected. The chosen citizen models will complete two days of pre-education, including outfit fittings and walking practice, before appearing on the fashion show stage alongside professional models.
Additionally, the festival will also feature the 'Flea Free Market.' The 'Flea Free Market' is a compound term combining 'Flea Market,' a marketplace for freely buying and selling secondhand goods, and 'Free Market,' a cultural market where artists and creators communicate with residents. It consists of the 'Car Boot Market,' a flea market using car trunks, and the 'Handicraft Market,' where local artists sell their creations. The Yangcheon-style Flea Free Market, which serves as a place for communication and cultural performances connecting everyone, is recruiting a total of 60 sellers (30 teams each for the Car Boot and Handicraft Markets).
Those wishing to participate as citizen fashion models or in the Car Boot and Handicraft Markets can apply by September 20th via the QR code posted on the district office website or by submitting an application form to the person in charge via email.
Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “As autumn approaches swiftly, we hope many people will show interest and participate in the 'Mokdong Rodeo Fashion Street Cultural Festival,' which returns with a rich program to satisfy all five senses.”
