U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Visits Korea and Japan to Discuss Semiconductor Cooperation and More

Ramin Toloui, U.S. Department of State Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic and Business Affairs, is scheduled to visit South Korea and Japan from the 11th to the 14th to discuss deepening economic cooperation and strengthening commercial relations, the State Department announced on the 11th (local time).


Deputy Assistant Secretary Toloui will meet with representatives of the South Korean government and private sector partners in Seoul on the 13th and 14th to discuss bilateral cooperation and investment, including building sustainable and secure supply chains in the semiconductor sector.

Earlier, on the 11th and 12th, he will meet with Japanese government officials in Japan to discuss global food security and strengthening supply chains, including semiconductors. The State Department also stated that he plans to exchange views with industry and academic leaders on Japan's role and opportunities in the Indo-Pacific region.


The State Department explained, "Deputy Assistant Secretary Toloui's visit to South Korea and Japan reaffirms the United States' commitment to working with partners to respond to global challenges and strengthen shared economic interests and security."
