DIC, a specialist company in reducers and drive motors for electric vehicles (EVs), has been on a two-day winning streak following news that it has completed the development of cycloid reducers, essential components for industrial and collaborative robots.
As of 9:43 AM on the 11th, DIC was trading at 6,450 KRW, up 870 KRW (15.59%) compared to the previous trading day.
On the 8th, DIC announced that it had produced prototypes of medium-to-large cycloid reducers used for robot joints and driving devices and completed performance testing. Medium-to-large cycloid reducers are mainly used in logistics robots and industrial robots and can be applied in various fields such as robotics, the automotive industry, and unmanned transport vehicles.
DIC stated that the core of the cycloid reducers developed this time lies in its proprietary cycloid tooth profile design and development technology. Cycloid reducers have advantages in high reduction ratios and high output, and with excellent durability, they are specialized for medium-to-large industrial robots and machine tools suitable for high loads.
According to the global market research firm Markets and Markets, the global collaborative robot market is expected to grow to 5.1 billion USD by 2025.
