2 Weeks Left Until Mandatory Operating Room CCTV
Security Industry Busy Preparing... Applying Various Technologies
S1 Provides 'Operating Room Video Management Solution'
With the new medical law mandating the installation of CCTV in operating rooms just two weeks away, the security industry is also moving busily. The industry explains that due to ongoing confusion such as opposition from the medical community, hospitals are only now hurriedly making related installation inquiries as the implementation date approaches. Security companies foresee this as an opportunity not only for increased CCTV demand but also for the active introduction of various technologies such as personal information protection through artificial intelligence (AI), enhanced administrator access security, and video data encryption, due to the special nature of operating rooms.
On the 11th, S-1 announced that it is providing an 'Operating Room Video Management Solution' in line with the mandatory installation of operating room CCTV starting on the 25th. This solution offers a 2-megapixel full HD high-definition CCTV. Additionally, based on S-1’s expertise, the security design minimizes blind spots and prevents arbitrary manipulation. Another feature is the control of access to stored footage and the ability to manage connection and usage histories. Backup, search, and setting change histories can be transparently managed, and real-time inspections for video information misuse trigger alarm alerts when suspicious patterns are detected to prevent damage.
In the unlikely event that footage is taken outside, encryption (DRM) technology is applied to prevent indiscriminate copying and playback. Watermarks are used to preemptively prevent leakage and forgery or alteration. The 'Privacy Masking' function detects moving objects and masks them so that even if backup footage is inevitably taken out, the patient's privacy is protected as much as possible. An S-1 representative said, "Based on S-1’s physical security technology and expertise, we will do our best to provide convenient and safe services to hospitals nationwide."
SK Shieldus also introduced the ‘Caps Video Export Solution’ to block video leaks with strong security performance in preparation for the mandatory installation of operating room CCTV. This solution safely manages the recording, viewing, and export of CCTV footage and provides history and statistics. System access is only possible through designated administrator accounts, and video export requires two-step security authentication via a fingerprint scanner equipped with 'quantum random number generation' technology. Additionally, accessible menus are subdivided according to user permissions. To protect personal information, an AI-based automatic mosaic function that automatically detects and tracks human movement is also provided. Users can add or exclude masking selection areas within the video. A distributor tracking watermark function is also installed to quickly identify the leakage route in case of issues. A dedicated player requiring the input of an exporter password within a limited period and number of times is also prepared to play the footage.
A security industry official said, "As the policy implementation date approaches, inquiries have surged, and actual contracts and installations are underway," adding, "Hospitals and others have diverse needs regarding operating room CCTV installation, and the scope of new technology utilization is expanding."
