Gwangju Dong-gu Council Visits E.T Baseball Team Training Ground

The E.T baseball team, founded in 2016, is the nation's first team established with the goal of helping children with developmental disabilities living in Gwangju grow into healthy members of society through the sport of baseball.

Initially, the players struggled with basic training as they were not accustomed to group activities, but after eight years, they have grown enough to compete against non-disabled teams.

However, after the support from the previous sponsor ended in 2021, the team faced operational difficulties. Recently, the Dong-gu Office of Gwangju stepped in as a relief pitcher, enabling the players to continue pursuing their dreams.

Upon hearing about the circumstances of the players and their parents, the Dong-gu Office decided to support the baseball team through the hometown love fund project.

Accordingly, members of the Dong-gu Council and staff from the administrative department visited the training ground in person to cheer on the players' dreams and hopes.

Chairman Kim Jae-sik said, "We hope that our small interest and help will become a great strength for the players and bring hope to many other children and parents experiencing developmental disabilities."
