Festival Held to Revitalize Traditional Markets... 28 Unique Snacks for 5,000 or 10,000 Won with Beer Coupon Provided
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) held the 'Yeongmaek Festival' at Yeongdong Traditional Market from 3 PM to 9 PM on the 8th.
This festival was planned by the Yeongdong Traditional Market Merchants' Association to promote the traditional market and revitalize the commercial district. The 'Yeongmaek Festival' is a portmanteau of 'Yeongdong Traditional Market' and 'maekju' (beer), while also representing the 'Young' generation, symbolizing the intention to make the market a lively place frequented by young people.
Merchants in the market showcased 28 unique side dishes that pair well with beer. The side dishes were priced at 5,000 KRW and 10,000 KRW, and purchasing a side dish provided a coupon to exchange for one glass of beer at 5,000 KRW.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, said, "I hope that through the Yeongmaek Festival, more people will visit Yeongdong Traditional Market and that the market will become more vibrant. We will continue to provide various supports to revitalize traditional markets."
